Zahrain thought that PKR and Penang will offer him lots of Angpow this year, but at the end, they give him a no-go. Hence he plays a yo-yo towards the stability of Pakatan by quitting PKR.

Konsep cari makan has existed in previous political system but nowadays, it isnt safe anymore. Who knows who can betray who? Guan Eng is no stupid fella. If he accept Zahrain and IGP recommendation to approve a RM 2 company to operate and manage Bukit Jambul Golf & Country Club, MACC will have an old visitor, which is Mr Lim Guan Eng himself.

So what the hell is this Zahrain up to? He's doing this for self-benefit or is he just a manipulative son of a bitch from BN to set up a trap for Guan Eng? Or is he just the typical "pemalas" wanna "cari makan senang senang", earn lots of commission by being the middle man and be able to spend alot of time banging balls at home?

Either way, fuck off to you Zahrain! We dont need rubbish like you. By the way, quit everything you hold and then disappear. Get a new life, get a sex change, get a cat, get a hobby but whatever you do, stay away from politic, you moron.

Dear Countrymen,

I just heard that Bolehland's crime rate has increased to more than 70% to 80 % since last year. Have you ever wonder why? For the longest time I could not understand.

But now I know why....

Hell! Our police are too busy on the streets! Arresting disgruntled citizens.

WAH! BIG BIG CRIMINALS LAH THESE GUYS! Anti ISA protesters only but bloody big deal to police.

Police said protesters are wasting their time and effort and rightly so. They were sweating whole day playing cat and mouse game with these people. After this, they gotta come out with reason to charge those odd 60 over fellas. They gotta come out with excuses as to why 100,000 others were not charged. Bloody fucking hardworking man these guys. And you said they were not efficient and lazy? Come on! I think come year end, they expect bonuses from Najib for working extra hard on the streets!

On the other hand, our lovely 1Malaysia ideologist reiterate again that we should not waste our time protesting and he is damn right again, just like our bulldozer police force. He is basically telling you to shut the fuck up and take the raping service as it is because you can yell all ya want trailer park and nothing gonna happen. The normal raping service resumes as usual after this. LOL!

But still I think we should do it more often. I mean the protest. Once the police get sick and tired of us one day, they will probably say "Lantak lah. Biar aje lah. Aku nak slumber ni!" (Fuck it. Let them protest all they want. I might as well take a nap!)

They even arrested a person practicing his monkey stance.

Even monkey performer were not spared! haha.

Syed H: Hmm...I think I need to reinvent myself in order to stay relevant. Look at Madonna. She reinvented herself many times and remained so successful. I will start with spending some time with Samy to get some valuable advise in getting a wig.

Interviewer: People claimed that you listen to Dr. Mahathir and act upon his advice?

Najib: When you go to the clinic, do you listen to the doctor's advise?

The verdict is final. The two police special action force personnel were sentenced to the gallows by the Shah Alam High Court today for the murder of Mongolian national Altantunya Shaarriibuu in December 2007.

Any human being with a clear mind can only imagine why would these 2 police officers brutally murder an innocent Mongolian girl without any reason at all. It's unthinkable. I aint going further on this.

Anyway, may the poor girl rest in peace.

The BolehJokes Opinion: What does Najib have to do to regain the support of Chinese and Indians?

This is a trying time for our new prime minister. The results in the 3 by-elections showed a lack of trust and support for his premiership. It shows that it is the direct rejection of Barisan Nasional as a whole and not towards Tun Abdullah Badawi's leadership. At the way it is going, an immediate or may I put it as a drastic change is needed to save BN from further downfall in the next general election. So he's in a make or break situation and a wrong decision will ensure that he goes down to history as the first BN chairman to lose the Government to the opposition.

The good news for Najib is, he will be better prepared for the challenges ahead unlike his predecessor, Tun Abdullah who was in a long honeymoon period after the massive victory in 2004 election and was caught unprepared by the heavy influence of Anwar's return to politic.

So what does Najib have to do to regain the confidence and support of the Chinese and Indians?

In my opinion, he will have to make some bold moves that will probably not go down too well with people in his own party. He will have to be really brave in doing so.

1. Remove the extremists in his party (mainly UMNO Youth members). Pump in new blood into the party and change their mentality to be more open and approachable to all races. Anwar will never allow any extremist to exist in Pakatan because this is his main political agenda. To build a complete Malaysia for Malaysian with no concern for the color of the skin. No matter this is just his political gimmick or it is really his ambition, this formula has worked successfully. This is why he was favored strongly by all. He will also have to encourage the Malay politicians to garner the support of other races. Ultimately, it is better to be loved and supported by all Malaysians rather than just being loved by all Malays.

2. Form BN into one. This will be very difficult as it will mean that the Chinese, Indians, Sabahan and Sarawakians will have to give up their high post in their respective parties and take a lesser role in a united BN. Let's look at PKR. The party comprises of Malays, Chinese, Indians and other races and their success gave a big hint that Malaysians want to be united. By keeping the same format as UMNO, MCA, MIC and others will not work anymore. Going back to the old way of Mahathir's style of administration will ensure further damages. If BN is not fully rejected now, it will be fully rejected in the future.

3. In perhaps the boldest move of all, he will have to select 2 deputies from other races following the same format as Lim Guan Eng in Penang. This will definitely be a jaw-dropping move and will almost certain to return a massive gain for BN. However, he will be in a catch-22 situation as it will definitely not go down too well with Muhyiddin and other Vice-Presidents of UMNO. Infact, it will definitely not go down too well with the extremists in his party. However, this will return the confidence to all Malaysians and prove to the nation that he is really firm in his forming of 1 race and 1 nation. The Malaysian nation. Whatever agenda that the Opposition may have, will not be able to match this. But the biggest headache will be selecting 2 capable deputies. In Ong Tee Keat, he has someone who is still strongly loved and supported by certain Chinese (especially the people in Cheras and Ampang) but Samy Vellu is highly despised by not only the Indians but almost every Malaysians. So who can he select?

Time is running out soon and these are the few ways of how BN can be saved. Question remained as to whether he is brave enough to make these bold moves.

7pm: At Bukit Selambau Unofficial results After counting four streams of out 64, PKR's S Manikumar is leading by 578 votes.

7pm: At Bukit Gantang Unofficial results PAS' Mohd Nizar Jamaluddin has increased his lead over BN-Umno's Ismail Saffian. Independent Kamarul Ramizu Idris is trailing far behind.

PAS 7,294, BN 4,670, Independent 17. Majority 2,624.

6.25pm: At Batang Ai UNOFFICIAL: BN wins Batang Ai

TCJ: Sigh..at least it's a 2-1. Was hoping for a 3-0.

6.50pm: At Batang Ai - Latest count: BN is reportedly has increased its lead over PKR to 1,000 votes.Meanwhile, at least three buses with suspected phantom voters have been stopped in Lubok Antu. They are now held at the police station with Election Commission officials and PKR’s Dominique Ng seeking to establish whether they are genuine voters.

5.25pm: At Batang Ai - More unofficial results from the on-going vote count: Gugu - BN 59, PKR 149, Krang Mong - BN 88, PKR 15. BN is still leading.

5pm: Polling has ended in Bukit Gantang, Bukit Selambau and Batang Ai.

4.45pm: At Bukit Selambau - Tension fuelled as both supporters are having a go at each other.

4.35pm: At Batang Ai - Of the five boxes opened, BN has won four polling stations - Ng Delok, Dewan Serbaguna Batang Ai, Kerangan Mong and Ulu Engkari. PKR won one in Sempang.

BN is leading with 908 votes against PKR’s 356, majority 552. About 20 percent of the votes have been counted so far.

4.20pm: At Batang Ai - Counting has begun for 14 ballot boxes. It's so far neck-to-neck between BN and PKR.

3.25pm: At Bukit Gantang - Blogger Anil Netto has put up a video clip on the teargas incident at SMK Pengkalan Aur polling centre in Air Kuning, Changkat Jering. See the video clip here.

3.24pm: At Batang Ai - Ballot boxes from 14 polling stations arrive at the main tally centre in Lubok Antu’s sport complex.

3pm: At Bukit Gantang - Tension boiled as another bus suspected of ferrying phantom voters arrived causing both supporters unrest. A PAS supporter was hit and fainted after a bottle thrown by a BN supporter hit him. Six trucks of FRU were deployed to restore calm.

2.25pm: At Batang Ai - Although polling is closed in many of the remote polling districts, the vote counting will not be done at the respective polling stations as was the case in the past.
According to the Election Commission, for reasons of logistics and weather, these ballot boxes are to be transported either by boat or helicopter to the main tally centre at the sports complex in Lubok Antu. The votes will be counted there. These boxes represent about 45 percent of the total electorate.Opposition PKR has earlier lodged an official protest because they are concerned of the possibility that these boxes could be switched while on transit. The opposition has also complained of the over-bearing presence of police even in the most remote polling districts. PKR leaders described this as an act of intimidation. According to initial unofficial exit polls, BN is trailing in a number of polling districts.

2.20pm: At Bukit Selambau - Police detained two men this morning for stopping a bus carrying BN election workers.

2.15pm: At Bukit Selambau - 2 more buses ferrying suspected phantom voters arrived. The passengers claimed to be BN supporters.

2pm: At Batang Ai - Unexpected high voters turnout. Both BN and PKR leaders have expressed confidence of winning. Political observers feel that this could end up a close fight with the results going either way.

You may have your reason. You may thousand of explanations. But hudud is a "no go" for me even if it is only applicable to my Malay friends. It doesn't matter. The thing is, a nation should have a standard law, a standard policy and a standard ruling. How can certain ruling only be applicable to certain race only? It doesn't work that way.

Imagine now we have hudud for Malays. Next we will have Chow Kuey Teow law for Chinese. Then Fried Meehoon law for Indians. Roti Bakar campur Teh Ais law for Kadazan, Bajau, Iban and all the orang asli.

Next, we have law for the women only. And then law for men. Then law for Manchester United fans only. Then law for Liverpool fans. And so on and so on.....

What does that tells you?........

That our nation is a fucking rojak!

Sorry for taking such a long break. Anyway, Happy 2009 to everyone. I wish that Bolehland will survive through the economy crisis and that our politicians will be more matured and be more caring.

It looks like Najib is going to be our next Prime Minister soon. Politics aside, I only wish that he can bring this nation forward.

Sorry Uncle Nik and Uncle Hadi. Hudud is a "no go" for me. Please. The economy is the main concern this year. Stop bickering and save us from the downfall.

With all the chaos from the opposition, I am only glad that Anwar didnt takeover now. I bet he can see clearly now that once in power, all his allies are not so united afterall. They end up biting each other. So maybe they will be better prepared for the next term but not now.

Dear friends / readers / countrymen,

I'm going through some turmoils in my life lately. I have no mood or whatsoever to write or comment about our current political situation at this moment. I saw the Yoga controversy, I just threw the newspaper away. This country is just so full of stupid politicians who are beyond help and at this moment, not worth my time debating about it.

Lately, I struggle with my career and personal life and sort of lost my way. I lost confidence in myself, I lost my love one, I lost a friend who died all of sudden, I lost my way in my work, I lost it all. I just couldn't figure out a way to get out of the situation.

I hate the way I look, I hate my weight, I hate my height, I hate my job, I hate the way my country is being run at the moment and to sum it all, I hate my life. At this point of time, I feel so alone.

Forgive me for being boring but I need a break again before I break down. I will always love RPK and support him. Please keep fighting for what's right for the people of Bolehland, Your Grace. May God bless you and the people of Bolehland.

The BolehJokes Opinion: Najib, the economy saviour?

Ok. I'm not a big fan of Najib but I think what he's done recently is brilliant. Most people like to jump to conclusion about many things but if you fucking use your brain for a moment and think properly, what Najib or his advisor has done is actually holding the economy.

Here are the reasons (This is only my opinion. You can agree to disagree.)

By raising the petrol price, the Government will earn alot of money and have alot in the reserve fund. The prices of other things will go up. Now the Government is reducing the petrol price to RM2.00, not too far away from RM1.92. The prices of other things dont drop, which means the businesses will have more profits as the cost is lesser. Same demand, more profits. Of course the people suffer alittle by spending more but ultimately it is needed to hold on to the economy.
With the strong reserve fund available, the Government is investing the money back into the market which will balance back the demand and supply. Remember your lesson in school? The theory of demand and supply.
The subsidy package of RM625. This is given to you to spend instead of keeping. The Government knows that with the money in hand, people will spend. This again stabilise the economy as businesses need demand to sustain.
The EPF contribution drop to 8% is another brilliant move. That means people will have more money to spend. Yes yes.... I know it's not good when you are old but for now, we need extreme measure to hold on to the economy or else we will all be dead.

The Government is trying very hard to stabilise the economy, which is not a bad thing for me. Afterall, this is their last card on the table. The BN Government has lost its reputation badly which needed no further explanation. But if they save the economy in this trying time, this will be in their propoganda in the next election and it will be really strong. I am not surprise that if they are successful, the cushion might just change and people will swing back to BN and support them. Afterall, people are usually very grateful to economy saviour. The opposition will need to work really hard to pin him down.

So can Najib save the economy, be the national hero and win you back? In my opinion, he's doing a brilliant job so far.

You know, 50 years of Independence has not taught us any shit! We are still the same bunch of fucking clowns wondering about how our nation should progress and have no fucking clue. We are still busy squabbling, arguing childish facts, politicking matters like road sign language or mini fucking skirts and many more stupidity which skips my mind at the moment.

I am really fucking sick of this country. Plus, I have lost my patience in PAS. I seriously don't think this bunch of extremist are going to be the people that can uplift the nation to another stage. Why do they keep politicizing religion? This is not Islamic, we are doing this the Islamic way or according to Islam? Why must relate religion into your fucking administration? For the last fucking time, let me tell you that religion is SELF PREFERENCE, you fuckheads! Dont you just fucking get it? Look at the fucking simple explanation below and work out your fucking formula.

Can I fucking say that we cant do this, we cant do that because it is not the Manchester United way of doing it? What about Liverpool and Arsenal supporters? Will they agree with your Manchester United way of doing things? Anything that relates to self preference should be left out of administration. Your administration strategies should be about bringing the nation to further improvement and that's all it is about. Why must complicate matters into your self preference? Fucking clowns. How can I trust that PAS can manage the country? No chance. I will not fucking vote for them. No fucking way.

Plus the fucking economy is the main concern of the world. Yet our politicians, be it BN or Pakatan seemed to be very hardworking in attacking each other rather than working things out for the people.

Choosing a Prime Minister

In the United States, they are the people's choice.

In Bolehland, it is their choice.

Something just provoked my mind lately. While the people of United States of America get to decide who to be the next President, we don't have a say in deciding the Prime Minister of Bolehland. How weird. Of course the genius of mind-twister like Mahathir will claim that it is Bolehland's version of democracy and it's different with USA.

Of course this came across my mind as the discussion about Pak Lah handing over power to Najib is getting alot of attention lately. The thing is, the nation dont get to decide so how can we know he is the nation's choice to be the next in charge? When Mahathir stepped down, he hand-picked his successor without the nation's approval as well. Of course internally in the party, there will be voting by party members to decide who will be the President of the party and naturally, the UMNO President will be the Prime Minister. But then again, this will be the party members' decision instead of the nation.

What's more, it is just members of UMNO that get to decide the next Prime Minister of Bolehland. It just struck my mind that other component parties in BN will just have to succumb to their decision which means whether or not MCA, MIC, PBS, UPKO, etc want Najib to be the next Prime Minister is not important. How democratic is that? And of course any party that disagree with the appointment can vote for a motion of no confidence against the PM but then one have to take into account of the serious repercussion.

More importantly, why cant we, the people, decide who is the next Prime Minister? How do you know I want Najib to be my Prime Minister instead of Muhyiddin, Tengku Razaleigh or others? Bolehland's version of democracy is really questionable. How can we be recognised as a democratic nation puzzles me.

In perhaps one of the most suicidal statement of all time, ex-deputy president of SAPP and the current Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah Raymond Tan claimed on Saturday that he had been instrumental in preventing the arrest of party president Yong Teck Lee in June in relation to allegations of corruption. He said he had pleaded with Abdullah not to arrest Yong as it would be a bad move.

“This is an admission by a BN deputy chief minister that the prime minister can interfere with ACA work,” said Chong Pit Fah, SAPP newly-appointed information chief.

That's why the title is "OH MY GOD!". Tell me. How can he be so stupid? I am shellshocked! He just busted the PM's bubble and instead of helping himself, he got the PM into the act. Now they will both be questioned by the people as to why the PM is interfering with ACA's work and what's more, how come a Deputy Chief Minister can persuade the PM to stop it.

This is absolutely schoolboys standard of politic. Unbelievably dumb. I'm sure Pak Lah will now be cursing and swearing and shouting "Why Raymond, Wahai Raymond, WHY?"

What the hell is wrong with Bolehland? We seem to have substandard politician everywhere. Come on guys! Hire some really qualified political adviser please. Stop hiring abang - adik as your advisor. It wont work. Dont keep putting yourselves to shame.

He's lying. It's a big political lie. I'm in charge. I'm still in charge!

We said we will deny them 2/3 majority. We did it. We said we will take Selangor, Perak and Penang. We did it. We said we will win big in Permatang Pauh. We did it. And now we said we got the numbers and they again denied it. When will they ever learn?

For the past few days, I've been thinking. I've been thinking about what can Anwar gain by lying about the numbers. What will he gain for bluffing? I couldn't think of an answer. Unless he's an extremely sad attention seeker. But hey, does he need that? Come on. If he's being exposed for his lies, he will lose credibility and the confidence of the people. Too much of a risk, isnt it? He's rapidly gaining popularity by the days, why would he commit to such a suicidal move? It seems senseless.

On the other hand, I've been thinking about how many times the PM deceived me. WOW! It's like most of the time. He aint gonna marry anytime soon, and boom... he got married. Petrol price aint gonna be hiked up anytime now, boom.... the next day it was hiked up and many more which skips my mind at the moment. I hate to point the obvious but he has a history of contradictions. That is why he is a weak leader. He failed to keep his promise most of the time. No offense.

After all the careful thinking, I choose to believe in DSAI. It may be delayed, but it will happen. After all, it's not an overnight decision for the PM to step down. It wont be easy for him. Imagine letting go of something in your possession for so long. It's difficult. You saw Mahathir cried like nobody's business when he stepped down. When you are in power, it's hard to let go.

But ultimately, that's the people's choice. One way or another, please respect it.

(Malaysiakini) Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim told his supporters to have faith as a new government was in sight.

"Tonight on the eve of Malaysia day, we are ready to form the government tomorrow," he said to loud cheers from the crowd.

He said that he had the required number of members of parliament to form the government.

He said that Pakatan Rakyat has submitted a letter to Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today, seeking a meeting with him for a smooth transition.

"Tomorrow is the day we are ready to form the government. But the best time, I tell you, is when we meet the prime minister.

"A peaceful transition is paramount," he added.

He was talking to more than 25,000 people who had gathered at the Kelana Jaya stadium to celebrate Pakatan Rakyat's Hari Malaysia celebration.

Call him stupid. Call him crazy. But he has the ability to give the Government to use the old excuses to arrest a few people. What's more, he's safe. He was just suspended for 3 years for whatever stupid things that he had done. What kind of justification is that, you tell me. Will there be more? Is this going to be Ops Lalang 2, the Chedet's old trick?

As we are advancing Sept 16, some people are really getting desperate. They believed the best way to destroy the plan is through intimidation and the most effective way is to use the ISA. Afterall, didnt our lovely Prime Minister vowed to destroy the plan? Not many Malaysians can take torture. Hell, not many human beings can stand torture. So I can understand their grievances.

I am sure the MPs in Taiwan would have been informed about the ISA breakdowns. Will they stand firm on the crossover plan? Human minds changes too rapidly. You can never know. But if they love the nation, this is our only chance. Unfortunately, it is in their hand and not in the hand of the people like me.

As we pride our nation as one with the system of democracy, I am most ashamed to confess my feeling that we are more like living in the Nazi era. The only difference is, there's no mass killings. But... I said but, there may be mass incarceration of BN's political enemy.

For the next few days, I am really worried for DSAI, Uncle Lim Kit Siang and Tok Guru Nik Aziz. The only way to stop the plan of Anwar is to have more arrest, cause more unrest and continue to intimidate the nation. Some times I wonder why human being can be so power crazy that they lost the basic fundamental of a human nature. Where is the love? Sometimes it's hard to imagine that these people were once the young and cute baby who will grow up with full of promises and end up being a tyrant.

We are now living in the 21st century and yet we have the mindset of barbarian ruling our nation. All the while, we are living in the double standard system of democracy especially during the Mahathir's era if you dont realise it already. When will we break free? When will we finally enjoy the true democratic system? Or we never will? God save Bolehland.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar explained that Tan Hoon Cheng was arrested under Section 73(1) of the Act because her safety was under threat.

That's it, folks. He had lost it (his senses). At first, I refused to believe that Syed Hamid can be that stupid. It's just unthinkable. I knew all along he was not that clever but it's alright. At least he wont go into making suicidal statement. But then after this episode, I am dumbfounded. According to Param, back in the 80's, he was a very righteous man. What happened since then? The Bolehland Breaking News: Official: Anwar won with bigger majority

9.50pm: Final official EC tally - Anwar got 31,195 votes, Arif Shah, 15,524, Hanafi, 92. Anwar won with a majority of 15,671.

Now, I know some of you are skeptical and cautiously optimistic about his victory. My advise is, give him a chance. If you can give BN 50 years by not coming out to vote, why not take this chance?

9.25pm: Official EC results: With final five ballot boxes to go, Anwar has bagged 29,526 votes, Arif Shah (14,444) and Hanafi (89). Majority so far: 15,082.

9.12pm: Official EC result: With 11 more boxes to go, Anwar has won the by-election with a 14,551 majority. He garnered 27,977 votes while BN's Arif Shah obtained 13,426 while Akim's Hanafi Hamat got 85.

8.32pm: Unofficial PKR alert: Anwar wins with a majority of 17,652, obtaining 31,949 votes. BN's Arif Shah garnered 14,297 while Akim's Hanafi Hamat got 74.

8pm: Unofficial: Anwar Ibrahim is the winner, obtaining a majority of 16,210 votes. He garnered 26,646 votes while Arif Shah Arif Omar got 10,436. His wife, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, won the seat with a 13,400 majority in the March 8 general election.

7.43pm The EC starts to announce official results as per the ballot boxes it has counted. As it stands, Anwar is leading by 3,507 votes (or 48.11 percent).

The breakdown is as follows: Akim's Hanafi Hamat (nine votes), Anwar (5,398 votes) and Arif Shah (1,891).

First off, we got the university dropped-out, attention seeking 23-year old Saiful Bukhari who purportedly swear on the Quran and then it was our lovely Deputy Prime Minister's turn, the part-time caretaker for Saiful Bukhari, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and then followed by the mafia looking Datuk Seri Tajol Rosli. What the fuck is this? The latest fucking trend in Bolehland? How desperate is that? You mean the court is not good enough to prove your innocence or your claim? Why you need to resort to holy swearing?

So that means all those fucking criminals rocked behind the bar waiting for their time to attend hearings in court can just fucking swear and get off? What do you think? Will those criminals swear? I bet they will if they can get off scot-free right after swearing. Why the fuck we need court of justice then? What we fucking need is more Quran or Bible or rather more holy books available for all the suspects to fucking swear. If they dare to swear, then they can be released.

With the current trend ongoing in Bolehland before Permatang Pauh by-election, I suddenly remember one fucking nice movie by Brad Pitt entitled "The Sleepers". In one of the scene, Robert DeNiro, a priest in that movie, swear on the bible that he offers nothing but the truth.

What happened next was, he lied in the court and he got the criminals off the hook for a murder charge. And according to the writer, Lorenzo Carcaterra, it was based on a true story.

I am sorry to say that at this point of time, I highly doubt Saiful, Najib and Tajol's swearing. It doesn't matter what kind of Sandiwara you'll be putting up next, I am very sure that the people has made up their mind. If they can give Wan Azizah such a huge victory, they can give DSAI a bigger one. As for Arif Shah, you can offer the voters RM100 but you can never offer them a CHANGE.

Stupidity in Bolehland has just gotten to a level worse. After swearing, they may offer to walk 5000 miles to Mecca to prove their innocence or claim or whatever.

This is a draw. Violent fanatics from mostly opposition parties caused Bar Council meeting to cancel with chants of racial sentiments while BN practicing double standards as police are not stopping the demonstrators while urging the Bar Council to cancel the meeting.

If Pak Lah and his BN people did indeed planned the use of racial card to pull back some sort of support, he had succeeded. Finally he can afford a big smile. He succeeded with the help of PAS. What's more, he's getting an even bigger support from PKR debutant, the champion of race wannabe, Zulkifli Noordin. BN may lost popularity and credibility in the way they handle certain things which angered most of us. But I am slowly losing confident in PR because of PAS and Zulkifli Noordin. What's more, I have lost all my confidence in PAS and their ability to be a good ally to PKR and DAP.

Why must I fight against the tyrant only to be harboring false hope and fell into the trap of another tyrant? Unless DSAI get rid of PAS immediately, form PKR and DAP into one party or I may never regain the confident in PR. I don't mind my leader is Malay but I simply don't want extremist to be ruling. I still remember what PAS did to Terengganu the last time they rule over there. DONT RELATE RELIGION INTO ADMINISTRATION, you retard!

I am very confident DSAI will still win but what will happen next? He becomes Prime Minister with PAS's backing? What will PAS do next? Make all Malaysians regardless of race to wear Songkok and Tudung? Men and women queue up in different line? We have to change our name to Eddy Yulianto Abdullah? What else? If DSAI dont succumb to them, will they pull out and join BN and help BN regain back the Government? What's next in PAS Youth's agenda? Whatever it is, fuck them. UMNO Youth suffered badly because of their stupidity. Now, PAS Youth is joining them in the fast lane.

4 years is really a short time. All I can see is, 4 years from now, people will want to punish PAS badly so that they will finally be a thing of the past. As for me, I will have to spoil my fucking vote because this nation has no hope with UMNO Youth or PAS Youth. Hell, I don't even know if I will go and vote. I know all the hype has been about DSAI's election campaign in Permatang Pauh. I would like to wish him all the best. I don't really know who will step up to challenge him but I feel sorry for that person. He or she will just merely show up, get some publicity and then lose badly (really big time motherfucking badly). Poor thing. Haha.

Honestly, I am still a little sick of politic. So let's talk about something else. I read an interesting article in the Star today, entitled "Teachers should not act like hooligans".

I can't help but to think about all the past horrible memory that I had as a little kid trying to make my grades in school. I fully agree with the writer. Some of the teachers during my time in primary school are really like some motherfucking big time gangsters. Let me share a few of the most horrible things that I've been through or personally witnessed. I can honestly say, we were all under Nazi ruling in school during those days.

Horrible incident number 1:
I was in standard 5 when I witnessed this. Terribly shocked and terrified and still feel horribly sorry for my classmate. It was in this session when the teacher was talking about the things that we love. So he asked us what are the things that we loved most. Some girls answered clothes or handbags, some said TV, some even said toys but there was one innocent fella who suddenly try to crack a really stupid joke by saying that he loves shit. He was instantly punished.

The teacher ordered him to go to the toilet and carry some shit with his hand and come back to the class and show it to him. At first, everyone was laughing. It was really funny. But then we were wrong. He really mean it. He shouted at that poor fella. He told him to really get some shit back. Poor guy. He went to the toilet, managed to grab some shit and wrap it up in tissue and came back. The teacher was not satisfied.

He demanded that the shit is supposed to be in his hand not in the tissue. How fucking evil. I will never forget this fucking asshole. I hope this teacher will one day trip and fall and smash his own fucking face into some dog or cat shit and accidentally swallow them. Fucking dip shit. Just by merely thinking of his fuck-face now make me angry.

Anyway, that poor fella again came back with the shit in his hand. How disgusting. Still this fucking asshole teacher is not satisfied. He wants that poor classmate of mine to smell it. Put it close to his nose and say "I love shit". My classmate did exactly as what he was told. He was terrified. He did not know what else he can do. So are we. We were all shocked. This is how loving our teacher is during those days. This fuckface have the same moustache like Adolf Hitler.

Horrible incident number 2:
I was doing my homework when one fucking stupid looking teacher came in to our class. This fuckface also have moustache that look like Adolf Hitler. He was very angry because the class was noisy. So he started pulling some boys out and asked them to identify the rest who were noisy. Unfortunately, my fucking classmate pointed out a number of us who were busily doing our homework and was obviously innocent and I was included. While most of them shook their head and helplessly agree to meet their faith, I decided to stand for myself. I told the teacher that I was innocent. I was doing my home work. I showed him my notebook. It was rather unfortunate.

Instead of believing me, he yelled at me and kicked me really hard and pulled me out like I was a criminal facing death penalty. He didn't stop there. He kept kicking me until he was satisfied. Then we were all caned by him. What a loving school teacher. I hope that he will spend the rest of his life rocking behind bar in Sungai Buloh Prison because of trying to sodomize some dogs. He's a fucking asshole.

All my life, I thought of taking revenge against this ugly teacher. I was hoping to do a "count of monte cristo" kind of thing to him one day (Count is the guy who after many years of planning, destroyed his enemies one by one). I thought that if I make it big one day, I will search his whereabout and fuck him up nicely and get my revenge. Forgive me. I was a little naive. He's not worth my time. His children will be smoking ganjas now and smacking him everyday like a pussy I think. He probably had a sex-change lately and became a fully transformed transvestite with a vagina hole. So fuck him and fuck all the idiot school teachers. They are really not worth my time.

I tell you my friend, there are probably few hundreds more incidents to share and I can go on and on because as I said, we were under Nazi ruling in school for 11 fucking years. You guys are so lucky these days to have camera phones. If I had camera phone back then, all these bastards will be flying kites right now. Anyway, if you say some of our police force are heartless people, the same can be applied to the teachers.

If you are a teacher and you are reading this, then fucking tell yourself to be a good teacher or I fucking curse that your children will grow up to be society rubbish, take ganjas and fucking smack you everyday when they grow up.

Hello Malay People. Please Buck Up!

First of all, I pray that RPK and DSAI will be alright. Let’s talk about something else other than politic.

I’ve just recently sacked a Malay staff. I can tell you that it is extremely heart-breaking. I am not a racist. I really believe in the spirit of “Muhibbah” and the concept of “Bangsa Malaysia” which is why I took him because I really want to give him a chance. I know he’s not highly talented but he’s a really simple person who at first showed a lot of promising sign and willingness to learn. I trained him patiently and worked with him for a few years. But it all went up to nothing. He is the second Malay I have sacked so far. I had to. I have no choice.

As time goes by, he’s taking more and more MCs. His performance dropped and he constantly got criticized by others while the complains about him are flying in every single month.

Still, I gave him chance after chance. Time after time, I tried to convince him that he gotta buck up or be left out. He took my kindness for granted and continued with his “lepak lah” attitude. In short, he was getting more and more lazy. His performance was crap. What’s more the management noticed.

I was heavily criticized for not sacking him. Still, I believe in giving people a chance. I had many sessions of heart to heart talk with him. It got worst. He’s faking MCs and he was caught by HR red-handed. No escape. HR gave me an option to sack or to give him a last warning letter. I chose sacking. I gave up hope on him. There’s nothing left in him that I can convince myself to see a change.

The next grueling moment is when I started to look for a replacement. As usual once the ad is out, the resumes kept flying in. You know what is so shocking my friend? I had 30 Malay people who applied for the job and majority are 1st class degree students. They are graduates from MARA, UKM, UTM, etc etc. Wonderful I thought.

So what is so shocking, you must be wondering. When I interviewed them, none can speak English. I mean it. None. Not even simple fucking English. I mean as simple as those Chow Kuey Teow taukeh can speak. How in the fucking hell these people can survive in Multi National Companies?

Nevermind. I test them in Malay. Goodness sake, not only they can’t speak English, they don’t have simple fucking I.Q. as well. I am really worried for Bolehland. I don’t mean to discredit these people but they gotta buck up. Although I did not hire them, I got them to know the importance of English and told them to take up lessons in English.

Come on man. Stop blaming the Chinese and Indians for your problems. Stop the fucking “Lepak Lah” attitude. Buck up! At least learn the necessary survival skill. Here is my hand if you need me. Allow me to guide you to the practical ways of life (take note of the word “Guide”, not control).

I don’t care if you are Malay, Chinese or Indians reading this post. Know this. We are Malaysian. We cannot survive without one another. Lend a hand to help a friend. If our Malay friends are weak in one thing or another, let’s help them. Let’s learn together and stop pointing fingers at each other because this is no gain for our already weaken nation. Let’s be a knowledge worker together. Let’s save our nation. Let’s be united as Bangsa Malaysia. Peace.

The people are now laughing real hard. It is stupidity beyond limit. He should have carefully consider the consequences before releasing a statement like that. I mean, it makes him look stupid, really really stupid. Why on earth would a Deputy Prime Minister spend his time to meet a commoner? Who is Saiful? Why is he so special that DPM have to devote his time for him? Is he now acting as a specialist or counselor to common people by giving consultation? If I have personal problem, can I see visit Najib too? What a caring DPM we have over here. The reborn of Superhero. When can we arrange for our appointment? I have lots of problems too that I want Najib to help me. :). And that darling is Anwar 1, Najib 0.

P Balasubramaniam’s statutory declaration made so much damaging claims about Najib. Of course our DPM is in his usual denial state. It does not matter whether the statutory declaration has any substance or truth in it. This is the second statutory declaration after Raja Petra submitted the first one. Najib’s popularity in the public is falling down like the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange each day. The more he deny, the more it gain publicity. The harder he tries, the deeper he falls as most people believe he’s lying. So that’s Anwar 2, Najib 0.

And the drama got worse when P Balasubramaniam retracted his earlier statutory declaration and substituted it with an amended statutory declaration. Whether he did it on purpose or not, the people will not think that much. Majority will jump to the conclusion that the poor Bala guy was being threaten to do so or else he will be in deep shit. In truth, Anwar has so much to gain from this situation. As for Najib, yet again, the harder he tries, the deeper he sinks. And that is Anwar 3, Najib 0.

You gotta praise Anwar’s political tactic (if indeed everything was pre-planned, it was really brilliant). He was able to score a hattrick over Najib in such a short space of time and instantly causing what I believed to be unrepairable damages to Najib. As for Najib, he has a lot of political classes to attend after this. Poor him. Being DPM is not as easy as it used to be. Under Mahathir, all you have to do is to be a stupid “Yes” man and that will do.

In fact, being a politician nowadays is no longer that easy. Gone are the days when Zainuddin Maidin can yell with his broken English claiming Bolehland is not Myanmar or Burma (same country actually. Burma changed their name to Myanmar) and remain as Information Minister. This country no longer have place for stupid ministers. Politicians nowadays have to be really witty which is why some of our sleeping ministers are suffering because they have been the “Lepak lah” type for decades. When reality strikes them really hard, they just don’t know how to deal with it.

Let's play politic bitch. So what would you do if you were Pak Lah?

Lim: The most common attack in politic that I've seen is to dig out the opponent's weakness and give more publicity to it and keep focusing on it. This is what Pakatan Rakyat has been doing and most people claimed that the clever Azmin Ali was the mastermind behind it. So same trick, same effect. Pakatan Rakyat is still not strong as a unit. There were voices of discontentment between PAS and DAP. As there were rumours about PAS wanting to join BN, Pak Lah could use this avenue to unsettle Pakatan Rakyat further. Make claims like Anwar and state that there are a number of PAS MPs wanting to crossover to UMNO or other parties. Claim that negotiation is underway and when the right time is here, announcement will be made public. Restore the mind of the people by publishing more on what the PAS government did in Terengganu with implementation of separating men and women in queuing up in supermarkets, ban on entertainment outlet, etc. Attack on extremist policy of PAS and give more publicity to it while claiming strongly more and more PAS members wanted to leave because of disbelieving in the extremist policy of PAS.

Unknown 007: Good thing that Ong Ka Ting is out but still need to get rid of rubbish politicians like Samy Vellu and Khir Toyo that is bringing bad publicity to BN. As Pak Lah cant remove them just like that, hire a trustable sniper like Ezam Md. Noor to dig out dirt in Samy and Khir and then act like savior in offering them to leave peacefully. Next, release Hindraf 5 and make a statement stating that the police has been given ample time to investigate further and failed to sustain strong enough evidence to detain them further. Make a public apology to the family of Hindraf 5 for all the sufferings, invite Waythamoorthy back and state that you look forward to working with them (Hindraf group) for the better sake of the Indian community. This will gain massive favor to Pak Lah.

Grace: Like it or not, bloggers play a powerful influence in the country now. Attend blogger's functions by surprise and earn their respect. Let them know their view is being taken seriously and you look forward to their constructive criticism and learn to work together with them to bring Malaysia forward.

Arif: Give more publicity into the wrongs of Tun Mahathir. Other than judiciary crisis, restore the people's mind about Operasi Lalang in 1987 and his dictatorship. Focus on Ku Li's power crazy stance since 1980's. In short dig more history out and give more bad publicity to the people who are against you. Ignore all the negative attacks in order not to embrace more publicity into it. Make humble and soft denials and then walk away (Same tactic used by most celebrity). Don't give focus on it at all.

G-Shock: If I'm the PM, I wouldn't have hike up the petrol price first. I would announce the subsidy claim of RM625 first to the public to let them collect the money and be happy and then only announce the fuel-hike. Prior to announcing the fuel-hike, I would have a full explanation and report done up to let the people know about petrol-stealing issues. I will give full publicity to the petrol-stealing issues and how much we are losing. I would also take out the road tax to gain popularity before announcing the fuel-hike. This would not unsettle so many people as it is now.

What would you do if you were Anwar?

KLH: What Anwar shouldn't do is to give more publicity into accusations like the latest alleged sodomy case. More denials, more bad publicities. The Bolehland Breaking News: Anwar to file report against IGP, AG

(Malaysiakini) A police report is expected to be lodged against the police chief Musa Hassan and attorney-general A Gani Patail this morning over their alleged misconduct during Anwar Ibrahim's trials in 1998-1999.

Lawyers acting for the PKR de facto leader are expected to lodge the report.

Yesterday Anwar had said that he had evidence implicating Inspector-General of Police Musa and AG Abdul Gani Patail in the misconduct, including fabrication of evidence in the cases launched against him after his sacking from government in 1998.

He added that a fresh police report lodged against him for sodomy was a result of "interested parties to attack me in retaliation" over this evidence in his possession.

The report alleging sodomy was filed by Anwar's aide, 23-year-old Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, yesterday.

Anwar claimed that the accusation against him was a "complete fabrication". PKR also said that Saiful was arrested and forced by the police to lodge such a report against Anwar.

Wan Azizah: Aide was volunteer staff

This morning party president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said that Saiful was a volunteer who joined to help the party during the general election period three months ago.

She added that little was known of him and that no background check was done on him as he was just a volunteer. He later become a special assistant to Anwar.

Saiful is a former student leader at the Universiti Tenaga Nasional.

Wan Azizah also added that Anwar "was taking it well" with the latest happening.

Anwar's lawyers are expected to hold a press conference at about 12 noon today, to be followed by one held by Anwar himself.

The police have denied that Saiful was arrested and forced to fabricate evidence as claimed by PKR.

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has also denied that the government was behind the new allegation against Anwar and he would let the police investigate the matter and take the necessary action.

Meanwhile, Anwar's supporters have started gathering at the Quality Hotel in Shah Alam in anticipation of police action against the politician.

Many were there overnight to monitor the situation and protect Anwar, who is staying at a hotel to attend a two-day PKR workshop with all its elected representatives.

This morning, there were two police patrol vehicles outside the hotel.

They may have a lot of differences lately, but they found a common ground on this one.

Pak Lah and Dr. Mahathir both defended Najib and wife in Altantuya murder. Abdullah said that action would be taken against the blogger who made the allegations against Najib and his wife Rosmah Mansor, and who has already been charged with sedition over the issue.

"I don't believe that Najib and Rosmah are involved," the premier told reporters.

While Dr M went further by stating that Raja Petra accusation a political ploy.

"They (Lim Kit Siang and Raja Petra Kamarudin) are not really interested in crime or achieving justice. They have a political agenda.

"As far as they are concerned, this is the time to run somebody in government down. So, they just seize the opportunity.

How stupid. Come on. Will the murderer openly confess “Oh yeah, my homie. I fucking slain somebody”? Will those people who are involved tell you that they are involved? I mean, how do you know they are not involved? Which part of their fucking face will tell you? You are not fit enough to comment whether they are or they are not involved. Let’s face it. Like it or not, any demonstrations in Malaysia will not be approved by the police. Without permit, it will be deemed as illegal assembly. The reason for banning is always the typical excuse, which is the national security at stake. So let’s think of some ways to make it professional and leave them no room for banning. This is just my suggestion. (If you don’t think it is viable, let’s agree to disagree.)

I think the event organizer should come out with the professional code of conduct to organize such event and propose it to the authority to let them know that it is just a peaceful protest. I know the BERSIH organizers have previously done it but it is not strong enough. It must be more professional in my opinion.

They must brief participants on the dress code and behavior conduct. No hate banners or shirt with abusive words. I mean, let’s be really professional. We are there to protest, not to cause chaos to our nation. We are discontented, not disoriented. For example, if you are not happy with your job, you should talk to your boss but you don’t throw tantrums around in his or her office because it will get you nowhere.

So brief all participants not to carry banners like “Pak Lah resign” or “Kerajaan zalim”. Instead, replace it with more friendly words like “RM3000 also not enough to sustain a normal life” or “We want solutions to our problems” or perhaps “Dear Pak Lah, subsidy is not enough. How about no road tax and no import duty on cars”. If possible, get only a few selected people to carry the banners and tell the rest not to carry anything during the protest. Reassure the authority that the few selected people carrying the banners will not cause chaos and register their names.

Tell all the opposition MPs to stay away. In fact, tell all politicians to stay away. Do not let this protest be politically motivated. Let them know that it is just for the people to voice their discontentment and that it is time for the Government to listen. Under no circumstances should anyone provoke the authority and incite hatred among the people with wild chanting.

Hire policemen to safeguard the event. Collect small fund from participants to pay them as an extra effort to monitor the event like a function. Let them know the schedule of the protest and suggest the best place to do it in order not to disrupt the traffic. In this, we are cooperating with the authority with regards to national security.

And if they still ban it, then they cannot deny anymore that Malaysia is indeed a “Police State”. In defeat, we can still achieve 2 things. First, we make them look stupid, if they cannot come out with a sound excuse for banning. Second, we discredit them further and put their professionalism into further question.

I still hope that the event will be successful and that the Government will listen once and for all.

That’s the reaction from most of the older people starting from age 50 and above (Not all, but most). Don’t get me wrong. I do not have any discrimination against older people but I am very frustrated with the attitude of most of them.

Ask them what do they think of the street protest of oil hike, they will immediately reply “Trouble. Avoid at all costs. These people are causing trouble. They have no brain. Economy will fall. Sigh”

Ask them what do they think if Pakatan Rakyat takeover in Sept 16 and their immediate reply was “Trouble. Stock up some food. Umno people will take to the street and cause chaos. This country will be in chaos”

Ask them what if Pakatan Rakyat took over and that there’s no trouble and their reply was “It will be the same. Same crocs, different party. Whoever got to the top will forget us and be like BN. So what’s the difference? I rather have peace.”

Because of not wanting any trouble, they sacrifice true democracy. Because of not wanting any trouble, they rather let corruption, injustice and open abuse to carry on. Because of not wanting any trouble, they rather be slaves to dirty scumbags. Because of not wanting any trouble, they rather let the country be in ruins just so that they can live on comfortably.

Most of the older people are cowards, especially Chinese (This is just my opinion). I am saying this as a Chinese and my mum and her friends are exactly like that. They are more than likely to stick to the same, be slaves to BN and will be very reluctant to change. As long as their lives are not under threat, they won’t want to do something. Only when something happen to them or their families, they will cry out for fair justice. What is the use by then? You let yourself be in ruins and only to realize later and want to do something when it is too late?

This is exactly the plan of our very own “dictator”, Tun Mahathir. To install fear into every Malaysian so that they will obey the lords. The lords as in the Mahathir’s cronies. That was Plan A. Plan B, to give more illegal immigrants bumi status to keep them voting for BN. As long as BN gets the majority, UMNO will run our lives and they will happily do so.

Obviously the younger generations are very different and they are disgruntled. They disagree with the old thinking. This is why the tsunami came. We no longer accept the kind of rubbish that’s been around for too long (Sad to say that some BN goons still don’t get it. They are still living in the 70’s). We are no longer living in an era whereby information moves slowly. We are more knowledgeable because of internet. We quickly learned about “Makkal Sakthi”. We quickly learned about the loopholes in our country and we want improvement. Can you imagine if there’s no internet, no CNN, no CNBC and all the things you read in the newspapers are just mere lies, what would have happen? You and I will still be happily chanting “Hidup Barisan”.

What the older people don’t understand is, I want a balance. No, I don’t want any trouble either. I want free and fair Governance that will look upon me as Malaysian. No, I don’t want Pakatan Rakyat to takeover and become the next arrogant party like BN. Ignoring people’s cry and ruling arrogantly is the last thing I ever want. If we keep fearing, we will never get what we want.

Should Pakatan Rakyat takeover, it will signal a change. A change that’s very important in our history and I want to give them a chance. I believe most of the young people like me are more than likely to give them a chance as well. They know full well they have to serve the people to prove themselves or they will go bust. This is what I want.

This will then force BN to reinvent themselves to be relevant. After reinventing themselves and their agenda is better than PR in the future, they may win back my vote. Either way, I want 2 strong parties to be relevant in this country. I want the people to get the chance to decide who is the better Government. Should trouble come, we must be even more united to overcome it instead of avoiding it.

So older people, stand up with us. I know you are at your retiring age but look further. Your younger generations will get to enjoy free and fair governance in the future. Let’s look forward to a better Malaysia and if God willing, starting from September 16, 2008.

Raja Petra: 'Rosmah at murder scene'
In his latest bombshell, Raja Petra accused Rosmah as among three individuals who were present when Altantuya was murdered on Oct 19, 2006.

"I have been reliably informed that between about 10pm on October 19, 2006 and early hours of the following day, the night Altantuya Shaariibuu was murdered, three other people were also present at the scene of crime," he said, according to his two-page statutory declaration.

He named the two other individuals as one acting colonel Aziz Buyong, who is described as ‘a C4 expert’ and the latter’s wife, known only as Norhayati, who is also said to be Rosmah’s aide de camp.

"My informer states that Aziz was the person who placed the C4 on various parts of Altantuya’s body witnessed by Rosmah and Norhayati," Raja Petra claimed in the document.

He attacked BN's record in the impoverished state, saying that it had been subjected to unfair laws and excessive taxes.

Najib defended the move, saying that cabinet ministers were "already underpaid in Malaysia" relative to the private sector."Don't begrudge us for what we have," he pleaded.

Najib also defended the Internal Security Act, which allowed detention without trial, citing the legislation as a key weapon in the country's defence against global and regional terrorism. 1) The premier said the government had held out for as long as possible but the steep price of oil has risen rapidly in the world market.

2) “The government would do all it could to alleviate the burden experienced by the people, especially by those in the lower income group and among the steps to be taken was increasing direct aid to them apart from assuring prices of essential goods remained affordable,” he said.

3) The PM added that the government would also take steps to save on public sector expenditure, increase the range of goods under the price control scheme, improve public transportation and postpone projects that are not urgently needed.

4) Despite of all these, Abdullah said the national economy experienced encouraging growth last year proving the nation was on the right track. “Real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth last year was at 6.3 per cent despite a challenging world environment.

5) He also pointed out that the government succeeded in reducing the national deficit to 3.2 per cent. Household income of Malaysians increased from RM3,249 in 2004 to RM3,686 in 2007, an average increase of more 4.3 per cent a year

6) Poverty rate has been reduced from 5.7 per cent in 2004 to 3.6 per cent in 2007, while hardcore poverty it dropped from 1.2 per cent to 0.7 per cent during the same period

"We believe that with such a drastic hike in fuel prices, we will get the support of the masses.

"This is not similar to the Bersih rally. It's going to be bigger. The impact would be bigger," Protes coordinator Dr Hatta Ramli told a press conference today.

Hatta explained that the KLCC Twin Towers was selected as the rally point because it was the headquarters of Malaysia's oil company Petronas.

He argued that Malaysia was an oil producing country and record profits from Petronas should be used to relieve the public from being burdened by the fuel hike.

“We have five weeks to mobilise the crowd and the government has five weeks to react to the people’s demands (to revert fuel prices to their original levels),” he said.

(Malaysiakini) The government has just announced that petrol price will go up by 78 sen at midnight - a 40.6 percent jump from RM1.92 per litre to RM2.70. The price of diesel will go up RM1, or 63.3 percent - from RM1.58 per litre to RM2.58.

The price hikes are among government measures to cut the spiralling bill for oil subsidies, which is expected to amount to RM56 billion this year.

At a press conference held at 5pm, Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi also announced that the government plans to offer rebates to motorists to offset the fuel price increase.
Under the scheme, vehicles below 2000cc will receive a RM625 rebate annually - to compensate for 800 litres of fuel used under the new price.

Motorcyclists will be given a rebate of RM120. The money will be paid by postal order.
Rebate will be paid when motorists renew the road-tax for their vehicles.

The government is expected to save RM4 billion under this new subsidy restructure.
If petrol is to be sold at full market prices, it could be as high as almost RM4 a litre - about 100 percent above current levels.

However the government is slowly expected to head towards totally abolishing the fuel subsidy.

Kajang police chief ACP Shakaruddin Che Mood told a press conference this morning that the police have a right to protect themselves.
While conceding that he has not seen evidence of the assault, he said: “Anyone can make up a story.”

MCA Youth legal bureau chief Gan Ping Sieu said he would write to the inspector-general of police and the home ministry soon, seeking an inquiry into the police brutality. Gan, who is representing the four suspects, said Shakaruddin had assured an “impartial investigation” into the incident.
“He said he would assign two separate investigating officers, which is good news,” said Gan.

He also called on eyewitnesses to provide information, and added that he would work with the human rights commission which is to consider a public inquiry into the incident.

Gan also said that the youth wing hoped that the attorney general will not prosecute the four.

He added that the police had indeed used excessive force on the four and those responsible should be dragged to court to face action.

"The four were unarmed and defenceless. There was no reason for the police to use excessive force," he said.

Police bail extended for BMC four

(Malaysiakini) The four persons who are being investigated for attempted murder and rioting during a fracas at Bandar Mahkota Cheras on May 27 have had their police bail extended until next week.

The bail for three has been extended to June 10 while 23-year-old Chang Jiun Haur, who was badly injured as a result of police assault, has had his bail extended until June 11.

The four are being probed for allegedly attempting to cause injuries to several police personnel near the barricaded toll-free access road in Bandar Mahkota Cheras. On that day, BMC residents had gathered in numbers to tear down the barriers which were put up by toll company Grand Saga to cut off the alternate route.

Driver still in shock

Chang, the driver of the vehicle, sustained severe injuries after being assaulted by at least 20 riot police personnel that night. He was admitted into the intensive care unit at Kajang general hospital by the police. Chang was battered with bruises and severely traumatised by the incident.

Today, all but Chang gave statements to the police at the Kajang police station.
Chang, who was present today, was excused from giving his statement, as he said he needed more time to recover from his state of shock. Meanwhile, Kajang police chief ACP Shakaruddin Che Mood said the investigation would be completed in the next two days. He added that almost 85 percent of the probe has been done. The four were represented by the MCA Youth legal bureau and its chief Gan Ping Sieu said that he would be writing to the inspector-general of police and the Home Ministry soon asking for an inquiry into the alleged police brutality.

A government decision to ban foreign-registered vehicles from the purchase of subsidized gasoline in the border states have been postponed pending a cabinet-level meeting of the committee on Tuesday. The ban was to be implemented by tomorrow, affecting the sale of fuel up to 300 stations within 50 kilometers from the border with Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore.

Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak said it will be decided by Tuesday.

"Wait for the anti-inflation committee meeting, as I want to know the latest proposals on the matter. We will come out with a statement on Tuesday," he said

Najib, speaking to reporters after attending a security summit in Singapore, said that the cabinet committee would also study various proposals to the by the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry.

"We have to find a new effective date because there are other matters, like for example, can we have separate pumps because the Singaporeans are saying that they don't mind paying the market rate," he said.

He said that not everyone in the media agreed with deregulating the media and argued that some senior reporters and editors in the field do not entirely agree with total media freedom.

(Malaysiakini) FRU brutality causes father sleepless nights

Sleepless nights plagued Chang Ah Kau after his son was brutally assaulted by the Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) during the Bandar Mahkota Cheras (BMC) fracas a few nights ago. The tailor was emotional when he related how he was unable to sleep for two nights after the incident but was thankful that his son, Jiun Haur, 23, was still alive.

“I had to live with the fact that no matter what happened, (it) has happened. I’m (however) thankful that my son is still alive,” he told Malaysiakini during an interview in their Teluk Kemang home today.

On Tuesday, tensions reached fever pitch when BMC residents who attempted to tear down the barricade - which blocks off the toll-free access road - clashed with a group of men purportedly hired by Grand Saga to protect the barricade.

Defends son's action

About five patrol vehicles were on standby, with a dozen police personnel keeping a close watch on the residents. Residents have complained that the police failed to act when the clashes happened.

By about 10.10pm, six Federal Reserve Unit trucks along with about 100 riot police arrived at the scene. At 11.30pm, curious onlooker Jiun Haur - who was travelling with his sister Jiun Mein and two friends - Cheok Kem Hoo and Chan Siew Meng - was allegedly beaten by 20 riot squad (FRU) personnel armed with batons and kicked with boots. The Damansara-based mechanic was subsequently rushed to Kajang Hospital where he received more than 10 stitches after the incident. He was later transferred to Teluk Kemang Hospital for observation.

Switching to a more forceful tone, Ah Kau defended his son’s action and criticised the FRU for being irresponsible that night.

“There were a lot of cars in front, but only his car was stopped. They targetted (only) one car, and that car was my son’s. If they want to stop cars, why not stop all the cars?

“How could he knock a police over if he was just making a U-turn? Cars would usually go slower if they did that,” he pointed out.

“He was already unconscious (but) they kept beating him up. How could you get the bird to sing if you killed it first? There’s no law in the world like this,” he said angrily.

Ah Kau - who is a single parent - related how he has constantly been thinking about his son and his family’s future as Jin Haur was the only child who had to end his school days early.

He also said he is unclear whether he will take any legal action against the police despite having several lawyers offering themselves to represent Jiun Haur for free .

However, this incident has taken a toll on the family’s savings as he had spent most of his money to pay for hospital expenses.

“Whatever is in my pocket, I’ll spend it even if it’s RM10,” he said.

Ah Kau late apologised on behalf of Jiun Haur for refusing to speak to the press as he was still “scared and sad”.

“He doesn’t even want to see his friends,” he explained.

However, Ah Kau said that Jiun Haur has lodged a police report on the matter in Seremban on Thursday to explain his innocence on the matter.

'We are all innocent'

Meanwhile, Jiun Mein - who initially refused to be interviewed by Malaysiakini - broke her silence and related how she was shocked by the whole incident.

“When they (FRU) saw me, they dragged me out of the car to some places far (from it and left the others behind). We are all innocent,” she asserted.

The Tunku Abdul Rahman University student who had to miss two days of classes due to this fiasco also hoped that “this will not happen again.”

According to Kajang police chief ACP Shakaruddin Che Mood yesterday, the four may be charged for rioting and attempted murder but no mention was made on when investigations will be completed.

Since the incident, the BMC access has been opened by the government in a decision announced by Works Minister Mohd Zin Mohamed to jubilant residents yesterday.

Referring to the article in The Star whereby the Prime Minister said “Learn from history” really raised a few questions in my mind.

1) If we are really learning from history, then why are we still being termed as “Malays” and “Non-Malays”?
Haven’t we learned anything from World War 2 whereby hatred policy created by the then Nazi Dictator, Adolf Hitler, causes so much grievances that there are no accurate amount of measurement to the losses incurred. When can we ever move forward as one under the category of “Bangsa Malaysia”. Why do we still allow extremist to continuously incite the issue of Malay Supremacy and causes more unease to the others who for so many years have felt belittled including myself. We were born into this country not of our choice, but God. We are God given rights as Malaysian. Do you know that Patriotism was at an all time low before the March 8 election? All this was because most people do not install any hope into this country. Ask them about what they feel about the country and they would turn away stating the fact that they don’t care and that their wish is to leave this country for good one day. Why do certain politicians still lack behind time and carry on with their narrow minded policies? Our talents are running away which is a massive loss to the country and racism will only lead to destruction which is well proven. Are we really learning from history yet? I bet no.

2) If we are really learning from history, then why do draconian laws like ISA and Sedition still exist?
Democracy exists when people can no longer accept dictatorship. During the time of dictatorship, people can be beheaded or incarcerated for speaking against the Government which is termed as “treason”. Basically, the dictator can determine your life and death. As long as he or she wants you to be dead, there’s no chance for you to live. Imagine your life is in some brutal man’s hand. The people have no choice or whatsoever but to pledge their loyalty only because they fear the Government. Is this governing system fair? This is no different from slavery. As human progressed on, they believe in fair system and started to abolish tyranny. They believe in freedom of speech. They believe in freedom of choice. In short, they believe in democracy where they can make a difference in the country and that the Government should fear them instead because they can make a change whenever they wish to. With laws like ISA and Sedition, we are going back to dictatorship / tyranny. You fear the Government. The only difference was, with ISA and Sedition, it is not death penalty. Honestly, nobody dares to say much before the 8th March Election. Suddenly, many people started to find their voices around right after the election only to be stopped by ISA and Sedition Act. There were talks about monitoring blogs and so forth. Is this how we want to progress on? Are we learning anything from history? Again, a big “no”.

3) If we are really learning from history and believe that corruption and decay can cause civilizations to suffer and stop the country from progressing further, then why can’t every politician declare their assets, practice open tender and have open policy on Petronas? What do we have to hide?
History has taught us that the greed of a man can lead to the demise of a nation. Take King Louis XVI for example. His hedonism lifestyle with his queen led to the demise of France because he was spending taxpayers’ money lavishly. As for us, we have many cronies who are exactly like King Louis XVI taking taxpayers’ money for granted. We could have been so much better without cronyism. The cronies earn easy money from the people and living lavish lifestyle, while the people are suffering. Close door policies will only breed more cronyism. It is a known fact. So are we really learning from history? No.

4) If we are really learning from history, then why make a certain religion as official religion of the country?
History has taught us that civil wars and major conflicts can happen in a country because of religion. During the time of Queen Mary I in England, Protestants were totally wiped out by executions because Queen Mary was holding strong faith in Catholic. That was humanity at an all time low. No religion encourages violence especially Islam, Christian, Buddhist and Hindu. Religion should never be made as an official symbol of the country as it is a very personal thing and thus it is very sensitive. Why do we have to relate a personal believe or preference to a country? Imagine if I were to say Malaysia is an official Manchester United Football Club Supporters country because majority supports Manchester United in EPL. Does it feel right? We move forward as a nation, not as what we preach in. So are we really learning from history? A bigger “no” as not only we are not doing that, many other countries as well.

5) More importantly if we are really learning from history to avoid all the wrongs, then why are we repeating all these mistakes?

I would rate this as the number one simply because of the amount of stupidity involved by the authority that gained nationwide attention. Raja Petra chose to remain in jail by refusing to post bail at first but heeded the advice by his wife at last and posted the bail. Words fail me and my mind skip a thought for a moment when I got know about it because I just couldn’t believe it. It was truly an insult to democracy.

2) Commission: Act against Dr M and 5 others
The Lingam controversy. This is another massive headline that gained widespread attention with some claiming that this is the darkest time in judiciary and inquiry is still ongoing. There were some flaws in between with the DPM claiming that prosecution not a certainty and Dr. M publicly challenged the Government to charge him.

3) Mahathir quits Umno
Citing another challenge to Pak Lah’s leadership, the ex-premier also urges other members to follow suit only to know that his very own son, Mukhriz was reluctant to join. This came after the commission urges the Government to charge him for the Lingam tape controversy.

4) Police doused some 500 residents with water cannons and fired dozens of tear gas canisters into the crowd at Bandar Mahkota Cheras.
As again the Government ignored the pleas of the people and what’s more installed more pain to their grievances by causing physical hurt to them. MP, Lim Lip Eng was injured during the fracas. The people were trying to demolish the barricade built by Grand Saga.

5) Youth assaulted by FRU and the BMC-Grand Saga fiasco
In claiming that the youth is driving recklessly and attempting to murder / cause injuries to FRU, the authorities took law into their own hand and causing massive injury to the youth and now are planning to charge him and 3 others with attempted murder. Journalists and some people were attacked by thugs and up till now, still no sign of the authority taking action against them while Deputy Home Minister defended the FRU and thugs claiming that he’s sure that the authority were acting within the law and that accusations were thrown at the police and thugs because of emotion. The cabinet finally decided that the road should be remained open and refrained Grand Saga from building more barricades.

Too Hui Min from Selangor added to the list of death in NS training camp and grabbed headline. DPM caused massive outrage by the parents when he further denies that the training camp was unsafe.

Disappointed Citizen: Dear Deputy Home Minister Chor Chee Heung (BN - Alor Star). As you should have known by now, many people already know the truth. Have you been living in Mars? Do you not know what some policemen can do? Are you talking blind with your eyes wide open?
Just one question to you. Did you see the Malaysiakini video? If the FRU and police have nothing to hide, then they should not have been chasing off the reporters before they did their ‘work’ on the 21-year-old. They should let the reporters film the whole thing. What are they afraid of? Justified? Mr Chor, you do not seem fit to represent the rakyat.

Lemon: I feel ashamed with what the minister has said regarding the beating up of the on-looker/ reckless driver whom, according to the police, wanted to knock down policemen with a car. Regardless of whatever the driver’s intention were, it does NOT give the police the right to assault anybody. Shame on the minister to justify the beating up. Two wrongs do not add up to a right. Negative is never a positive in this case. If this is not curbed now, they can justify shooting in the near future. Is Malaysia a police state? The truth speaks for itself.

Mana Justice: Datuk Chor, your reply does not speak for all Malaysians. An innocent person was wrongly beaten up. The police have used excessive force. The prime minister has made a mistake in selecting you to be the deputy home affairs minister. Datuk Chor, luckily the person beaten badly was not your loved one.

Alex: Irregardless of whether a policeman was assaulted or not, their duty is to reprimand and let the course of justice take precedence. They have no right in bashing up the citizens they are supposed to protect. However unruly the citizens may be, they are unarmed versus the FRU personnel that are carrying batons and shields, not to mention some 'supposed' training and discipline in their force. Also, as far as we all know, traffic policemen carry firearms nowadays. I am very sure that if they were to drive in with sirens and without even having the need to flash their guns, the fracas could have been avoided and there would not have been reports as published. All police officers that defended the assault should be relieved of duty and questioned, including the deputy home minister himself. Any act of violence should be condemned in our peaceful society but the government, as usual, is practicing double standards when the fault is theirs. This shows the gross negligence, denial syndrome and unrepentant attitude of BN. That said, there is no point having massive campaign for the next general election. We will remember how we were being treated. I may be overseas and not be involved physically, but we feel the pain these people are going through.

At 11.30pm, curious onlooker Chang Jiun Haur was allegedly beaten by 20 riot squad (FRU) personnel armed with batons and kicked with boots. Chor's report shows that a Proton Wira driven by three men and a woman tried to knock several police officers. They were subsequently detained by the police.

"I believe in the confusion, many accusations have been made against the police and thugs. After that, residents were told to lodge police reports," he said.

One sided reports
"I can also say that Malaysiakini's report is incorrect. Don't just hear one side of the story. We have to hear the other side to know exactly what actually happened on May 27," he exclaimed.
Teo Nie Ching (DAP - Serdang) then stood up to ask why did the FRU take three hours to reach the barricade area and how many police officers were actually injured. (The FRU base is only 5km away from the scene of the incident)
Chor replied: "As far as I know, you weren't there that day and neither was I. That's why I dare no speculate as to what actually happened."
"Based on the report given to me from the police, two police officers were hurt - one on the hand and one on the thigh from falling down after being knocked by the said car," he said.
"I did not receive any news or report about police using too much force but I assure you that the police will always act in accordance with the law," he summed up.

The moral of the story: When police beat you up, they are doing their job, so let them beat you because it's their right. If you even show sign of refusing to get beaten up, you are breaking the law! THE BOLEHLAND BOLEH!

The historic event that took place in 1998
In 1998 Newsweek magazine named Anwar the "Asian of the Year." However, in that year, matters between Anwar and Mahathir came to a head around the time of the quadrennial UMNO General Assembly. The Youth wing of UMNO, headed by Anwar's associate, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, gave notice that it would initiate a debate on "cronyism and nepotism". The response was swift, as Mahathir issued lists of cronies who had benefited from government share allocations and privatisations. To the chagrin of Anwar and his allies, several of them were on the list, including Anwar and Ahmad Zahid.

Anwar continued his assault on what he called the rampant corruption within Mahathir's administration, by attempting to impose transparent audits on major conglomerates and business empires, which, he alleged, had been overcharging for government projects and evading taxes. One of the potential victims would have been Mahathir's son, Mirzan Mahathir, who was a director in almost 100 private and Government-linked companies. Conglomerates that were closely linked to the government, such as Renong, would have been adversely affected as well.

Anwar was fired from the Cabinet in September, amid police reports that he was under investigation. The following day, he was expelled from UMNO. Dr Munawar Anees, Anwar's former speechwriter, and Sukma Darmawan Sasmita Atmadja, Anwar's adoptive brother, were arrested under suspicion of engaging in homosexual acts.

On September 29, 1998 Anwar appeared in court and pleaded innocent to charges of corruption and sodomy. A photo of Anwar with black eye (which he gained from a beating, while handcuffed and blindfolded, by then Inspector General of Police Rahim Noor) and one hand raised became a symbol of the political opposition in many reformasi posters.

The black eye was explained by Mahathir Mohamad and Rahim Noor as being "self-inflicted" and caused by "pressing a glass over his eyes". Only after a Royal Commission was convened did Rahim Noor admit that he had administered the beating to Anwar. Both Anwar and Rahim Noor have denied the allegations that Anwar was sodomised in prison to "plant" the forensics evidence of anal sex in Anwar.

BMC fracas: Police beat up youth

By his account, he was only a curiosity-seeker who wanted to know what was going on at the site of a disputed barricade near Bandar Mahkota Cheras (BMC) last night. In no time at all, however, Chang Jiun Haur was soaked in his own blood after being repeatedly beaten by 20 riot squad (FRU) personnel armed with batons and kicked with boots.

“He asked for it. He ran over a policeman and he got what he deserved,” the officer told Malaysiakini a few minutes after the incident. Asked to identify the person who was hit by the car, the officer had initial difficulty in persuading the individual to come forward.When he did so, the man - who appeared unscathed - claimed: “He tried to run me over... look at my baton, it is broken. What more evidence do you want?”

However, a police officer who took Chang to the Kajang Hospital said none of the personnel had been hit by the car. Chang, when met at the hospital at 12.30am, denied this as well: “We had just come back (to Kuala Lumpur) from Port Dickson and wanted to see what was going on.”

DAP Selangor executive councillor Ronnie Liu, who visited Chang later last night, said the police had over-reacted and that the excessive use of force could not be justified.

“The police should maintain law and order and not assault people. I am disappointed. My party will provide Chang and the others with lawyers,” Liu said.

According to Liu, the beating was so severe that Chang lost one or two of his teeth.

Chinese-language dailies reported today that more than 10 people were seriously injured in yesterday’s incident, which saw BMC residents assaulted by ‘thugs’ allegedly hired by toll concessionaire Grand Saga. However, the company has disassociated itself from the incident, also saying it does not condone violence. About 7pm yesterday, defiant residents attempted to tear down the barricade that had just been rebuilt, but were confronted by unidentified men armed with iron rods, helmets and sticks.

“They attacked the residents immediately. About 10 people were assaulted, and three of them were reporters. Their cameras were confiscated as well,” claimed Tan.

Star reported that Utusan Malaysia photographer Roy Azis Abdul Aziz had been beaten up when he tried to take photos of the fracas. BMC resident Chin Kee Chong’s right arm was broken (right) and he suffered injuries to his head, while another resident - Lee Ah Seng - sustained severe injuries to his head, which required seven stitches.

Former Terengganu Menteri Besar Idris Jusoh today resigned as the state's Umno chief. He had been holding the post for four years. According to Bernama, Idris said he informed Prime Minister and party president Abdullah Ahmad Badawi of his decision when he met the latter today.

"I have informed the prime minister of my decision to relinquish my post as the Terengganu Umno liaison chairman and the prime minister agreed," said the Jertih assemblyperson.

"I will send my resignation letter tomorrow," he said.

Toll operator Grand Saga today distanced itself from the fracas which occurred last night at the barricaded toll-free access road to the Cheras-Kajang Highway in Bandar Mahkota Cheras (BMC).
The fracas involved residents and several unidentified men and caused injuries to more than 10 residents, some of whom who were seriously hurt and had to be admitted to the Kajang hospital.
"Grand Saga wishes to state that it disassociates itself from the altercations between several parties yesterday and that it does not condone violence in any form," said the company's executive director Zainal Abidin Ali (left) in statement today.
"Grand Saga further wishes to extend its sympathy to the several persons who sustained injuries in the unfortunate incident," said Zainal, who is former Dang Wangi police chief.

(Malaysiakini) Barricade re-erected, clashes with residents

It did not take long for toll concessionaire Grand Saga to rebuild a concrete barricade to block a toll-free access road to the Cheras-Kajang Highway in Bandar Mahkota Cheras (BMC). The task of building the five-foot high wall across the double-lane access road started at about 1am and was completed by 3.30pm today. But tensions rose when BMC residents who attempted to tear down the wall clashed with a group of men purported hired by Grand Saga to protect the barricade. According to residents, about a dozen people were injured after they were assaulted by 30 'thugs'.

Hit me baby one more time

By about 10pm, some 400 to 500 residents had gathered at the site, attempting to remove the concrete barriers. According to eyewitnesses, about three or four of the huge boulders were removed. It is also learnt that two residents have been admitted at Kajang hospital after suffering injuries caused by the thugs. One of them is said to have suffered facial injuries and a broken hand. The police had tried to urge the crowd to disperse but the orders were ignored by the residents.

Kajang OCPD ACP Shakaruddin Che Mood told reporters that a total of five police reports were lodged by the residents today. He also said that the police were uncertain as to the identity of the ‘thugs'.

Meanwhile just as everyone had left the place, a bit of drama unfolded when the police moved in to stop a vehicle and arrested four people - three men and a woman - from it. The driver of the car was assaulted while being arrested and suffered a bloodied nose. The police said that they were arrested for reckless driving that could have caused injuries to the police personnel.

Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim has stated that it is illegal to build the barricade on the road as indicated by the findings of the Ulu Langat Land Office
"We have already told Grand Saga that if they wish to dispute the jurisdiction over the road, they should take it to court. They should not barricade the road until the matter is legally resolved," replied Nik Nazmi, political secretary of MB Khalid Ibrahim.

This is a very good question raised by Haris Ibrahim during a recent interview by The Star. He said that he would like to hear PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim apologise for all his actions (and inactions) during his 16 years in government.

"My contention is very simple," he says. "Tell this nation, 'I was wrong. I am sorry and I want to work with you', and I think we can move forward."

Haris added that he had been tracking Anwar's public statements for the last few years and he has yet to see him make an unqualified apology to the nation. As deputy prime minister, he was guilty of doing many of the things he now criticises. His maneuverings to control the media is well-known in journalism circles. He also allowed for undeserved appointments to top positions in public universities. And he also had his fair share of corporate cronies.

While Anwar has, on occasion, bucked the Umno way, for example when he spoke up for Lim Guan Eng over his sedition trial and subsequent prosecution, these instances were few and far between and are vastly outnumbered by the times when he made use of the system rather than go against it.

There is a serious possibility he might become the next prime minister if his Pakatan Rakyat coalition takes over power. So should he apologise?

My Thoughts

If he does, I will be very proud of him. A man must be man enough to admit his mistakes and big enough to make the steps to change. I strongly feel that if he makes this step, it will clear many doubts. My dad once told me he has doubts about Anwar and it took me an hour to convince him that Datuk Seri Anwar, Lim Kit Siang and Tok Guru Nik Aziz can really bring us forward. Bring us what we are really vying and crying for all these years, which is the true democracy.

I do believe that there are still a number of people out there who have doubts about Datuk Seri Anwar. In my opinion, if he was ever wrong before, he has suffered in his very own demon badly, which is getting incarcerated in Kamunting under ISA. Can you imagine all the tortures he has been through? It would have broken down many people but not DSAI. Most men would have negotiated a peace truce and quietly get out of the scene and live peacefully ever after and be forgotten but not DSAI. Most men would not even want to come back to politic because of all the hell that they've been through, but not DSAI.

I must admit in 1998 I had my reservations about him. I was strongly against any call of "Reformasi". I was one of them that hated chaotic events to take place. I had desired peace and felt that all these "Reformasi" chant are a threat to the nation's peace.

But for now, I truly believed this man is our hope for a true democracy simply because he has been there, seen it and gone through it, and more importantly suffered and know that it is wrong. He came back strongly only because he wants the system to be changed which is the same for me. I want a change badly. I do believe many of us feel the same.

So if he can come out and tell me that he is sorry and I will listen to you and that we can all move forward to real democracy, not only he will gain my respect further, he will earn my family's trust. Infact, he can earn the nation's trust.

P.S. - Besides Anwar, I strongly believed in Raja Petra and loved him like many other Malaysians. I sincerely hope that these people can really bring a change for us to a better future not only for you and for me, but for our next generation.

(Malaysiakini)PKR has began what it hopes will be the first step in to eventually taking over the state government from Barisan Nasional with the launch of its new division over the weekend in the predominantly-Iban in Lubok Antu.

PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, who officiated at the launch on Saturday morning, described Lubok Antu - about 250km from state capital Kuching - as the gateway for opposition Pakatan Rakyat to enter Sarawak to prepare for the next state elections due in two to three years. Presently, Pakatan holds seven out of the 71 state seats - DAP six and PKR one, all Chinese-majority seats. Sarawak is the only state in Malaysia that does not hold its state election at the same time as the general elections - it held its last state polls in 2006.

There are 28 predominantly Dayak (which collectively include Iban, Bidayuh and Orang Ulu) seats in the 71-member state assembly - all are presently in the hands of the various component parties of the state BN, consisting of the dominant PBB, along with PRS, SPDP and SUPP. DAP and PKR already control more than half of the Chinese-majority seats, and political observers say if the so-called political tsunami finds its way to Sarawak, there is a possibility that the Chinese-based SUPP could see itself losing more seats or even wiped out in the next state elections.

PKR along with its ally in Pakatan are already seeing some clear signs of a change of mood among the Malay community in favour of the opposition. Their hopes have already been bolstered by the huge turnout estimated around 5,000 rarely seen before at the Kampung Gita ceramah attended by Anwar, a former deputy prime minister, last Friday. Anwar touched on a wide range of issues, including the readiness of Pakatan Rakyat to take over the federal government and the reasons why this had to happen in the light of what is happening to Malaysia today, both from the national and international perspectives. It the campaigns for the last election, ceramahs hardly attracted more than 1,000 people each.

Warmly greeted by well-wishers
Even during a brief stopover at Serian town, about 60km from Kuching, on his way to an Iban longhouse to launch the Lubok Antu division on Saturday, Anwar found himself warmly greeted by well-wishers. “People seemed to be genuinely happy to see him and shake hands with him in Serian,” a small-time Chinese contractor who was in town at the time. “It is perhaps an indication of how people now warm to PKR after March 8 (general elections),” he added.

BN state leaders fight back
Meanwhile, Anwar's visit had not gone unnoticed among top BN leaders in the state.
On Sunday, Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud, who is leader of PBB, travelled to the Bidayuh areas in Bau, telling the community not to become 'sabong manok' (fighting cocks) but to support their native leaders.

Malaysian school uniforms for girls not sexy, says education minister

Malaysia's education minister has dismissed complaints by an Islamic group that uniforms of schoolgirls are too sexy and invite rape, an official said Monday.

Education Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said over the weekend his ministry was unlikely to change the school uniforms, which he does not consider to be too sexy, but said officials would look into the matter.

"It is unfair to punish women and children and the clothes they wear for the act of rapists," The Star daily quoted him as saying. "From what I have seen, clothing is not the main consideration of those who commit despicable acts."

The Election Commission (EC) has informed its officers to be prepared for a snap election, said chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman. Stressing that he was not one to speculate, Abdul Rashid said the EC was prepared “for anything” and was capable of handling a snap election as it had all necessary infrastructure in place.

“But I don’t want to speculate, and it is not for us to speculate, but we are prepared for anything. In the past two months of meeting with the ROs, I’ve already told them to be prepared as it may be called anytime,” he said.

Samy Vellu wants Badawi and Mahathir to bury the hatchet

Prominent Malaysian Indian leader S. Samy Vellu has come out in support of Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who is facing a revolt from predecessor Mahathir Mohamad, and wants the two to bury the hatchet.

Vellu expressed his support for the ruling coalition Barisan Nasional (BN) amidst speculation that lawmakers from the alliance might quit to join the opposition, which might bring down the Badawi government.

'I still believe he (Mahathir) is a very good leader. If he and Datuk Seri Abdullah get together, with his experience and all, it would be more useful for the country to progress further,' he said before opening the Kedah state MIC convention.

Call for support to improve English

THE Education Ministry has called for more support from corporate and professional bodies to improve the teaching and learning of English in Malaysia.

Although Malaysians have a better command of English compared to their other ASEAN counterparts – except Singapore – improvements could be made by addressing the disparity in English competency between urban and rural students, Deputy Education Minister Datuk Razali Ismail said.

Lauding some companies for sponsoring English newspapers for NiE (Newspaper in Education) programmes in schools, Razali urged more to follow suit.

“I wish more companies and industries would come forward to sponsor newspaper subscriptions, especially for students in rural areas,” he said.

“The contribution should not be confined to newspapers as they can contribute English books to school libraries and sponsor teachers for professional development courses and provide scholarships to those who opt to teach in English.”

On the ministry’s initiatives, Razali said English teachers are paid a special allowance to teach the subject – 5% and 10% of their basic salary for graduates and non-graduates, respectively.

Addressing a PKR dinner in Kuching last night, the Pakatan de facto leader said many things were happening which made many Barisan MPs unhappy but they dared not speak out in Parliament.

The Barisan MPs could speak out if they join Pakatan, he added. The former DPM said under the BN's long rule, a lot of things were going wrong which had put Malaysia way behind many other countries, such as Singapore and even Indonesia and Thailand , in terms of the economy, except for the corruption index which was going up.

Dr Jeffrey Kitingan told Malaysiakini last night the numbers come from Sabah, Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia, almost equal in number for each of them.

According to Jeffrey who is also Sabah PKR deputy chief, the first batch of Barisan MPs to join Pakatan will take place either at the end of May or early next month.

This would be followed by those in the peninsula, he said, adding that Sarawak MPs would be the last to follow suit.

Anwar had earlier said that when forming the government, political stability was important just as immediate attention must be paid to the economy.

He repeated pledges to increase oil/gas revenue for Sarawak, Sabah and Terengganu from the present 5% to 20% should Pakatan form the government at the centre as well as reduce oil prices, saying this was possible because Malaysia, unlike Singapore and Thailand, is an oil exporting country, like the oil-producing and exporting Middle East countries where petrol prices for the local consumer market are low.

“You cannot say our petrol prices are lower than Singapore or Thailand and compare it. You should compare with the oil producing and exporting countries,” he added.

Anwar said under the BN, the country has lost its sense of direction, foreign direct investments are declining and the state of the economy is a big worry.

The former DPM said he would not like to make promises he could not keep, adding that should Pakatan take over, he would use all his overseas contacts with countries in China, the Middle East, Europe and the US to bring in foreign direct investments and to make Malaysia great again.

Dr M warns of unrest amid political turmoil

Dr Mahathir Mohamad has warned of possible unrest in multi-racial Malaysia, accusing his successor, Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, of failing to assert his authority.
"Now we are seeing the different races making demands on the government, which they perceive as a weak government," the former premier told reporters in Tokyo yesterday.

He said "extremists" among different communities had begun to voice their opposition and make unfair demands on the government, trying to "divide rather than unite."

Recently there have been growing fears over "Islamisation" of Malaysia and the increasing polarisation of the three main ethnic communities.

BOLEHLAND BREAKING NEWS: Karpal lodges police report against Mahathir

(Malaysiakini) Bukit Gelugor MP Karpal Singh wants the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) to investigate former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad on his recent allegations that several judges had lobbied for promotion during his time in office. He wants the ACA not only to investigate the allegations but also as to why Mahathir did not lodge a police report for the overtures of the judges and or persons concerned. According to the senior lawyer, Mahathir has fallen foul of the Anti- Corruption Act 1997. At a forum in Johor Baru last weekend, Mahathir revealed that several judges had lobbied him for promotions when he was the country's fourth Prime Minister for 22 years (1981 - 2003). Speaking on the allegations that he was at the centre of a judicial appointment scandal in 2001, the 83-year-old veteran politician said he would "love to be in court to testify about the scandal." Only then, the former premier said, he could reveal what went on behind the scenes at the time and instances of judges lobbying him for promotions.

Arrest Dr M under ISA

Give former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad a taste of his own medicine by arresting him under the draconian Internal Security Act (ISA), which allows detention without trial. Datuk Param Cumaraswamy, the former UN rapporteur for the independence of judges and lawyers, alleged that Mahathir’s remarks in his May 17 speech “not only bordered on sedition but, applying his own standards, qualifies him for detention under the ISA”. In his address to about 1,000 people in Johor, Mahathir had reportedly cited the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) group’s list of demands contained in a memorandum and asked if anyone knew the implications of those demands.

“What does it say? Malaysia for Malaysians! This is the reality of the present situation. If we do not speak up, if we choose to keep quiet, we will lose our rights and the other races will take over” the Malaysian Insider news portal quoted him as saying.

“When that happens, it will be like Singapore. Do you think we will still have control?” said Mahathir in his speech.

According to Param, he had written to Mahathir in December 1987 to inquire as to the reasons for the detention of his political opponents under the tough security law during ‘Ops Lalang’ crackdown.

He needs ‘rehabilitation’ in Kamunting

In that operation, Mahathir had more than 100 political rivals and social activists detained and three newspapers shut down in the wake of a bitter split within his Umno party and tensions stirred up over the issue of Chinese education.

Recounting this, Param said if those persons were detained under the ISA during ‘Ops Lalang’ because they indulged in ‘race-baiting’ which Mahathir felt threatened the majority of Malaysians, then “the same criteria could now be applied to Mahathir for his speech in Johor”.

MB: RM27m spent by BN reps in two months

Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim today revealed that Barisan Nasional assemblypersons had spent 90.6 percent of the total state allocations within the first two months of this year. The grand total amounts to RM26,634,844.33 and a balance of RM2,907,155.76 remains, he said in reply to a question posed by Ng Suee Lim (DAP-Sekinchan).

He also noted that there was a number of trends in the amount of funds spent, such as a large number of Barisan representatives spending exactly RM492,800, and said that he would investigate the matter.

"Strangely, the previous speaker, who was not even a state assemblyperson, spent RM600,000," he told the House.

Balkis controversy

On a question by Lau Weng San (DAP-Kampung Tunku) on the Balkis controversy, Khalid said he had tried in vain to seek answers from the Registrar of Societies (ROS). He said that he had written three letters to the ROS since April but no reply was forthcoming.

"In the letters, we have asked for details on Balkis dissolution. But we have yet to receive any reply. We are still waiting for an answer," he said

(Malaysiakini) More signs of a deepening Umno strife surfaced in the Dewan Rakyat today with controversial BN Jerlun member of Parliament Mukhriz Mahathir taking a bold swipe at fellow party member and de facto Law Minister Zaid Ibrahim.

Zaid, who during his winding-up speech on the royal address, was in the midst of speaking on government’s effort to introduce judicial reform was interrupted by Mukhriz.

"Congratulations, minister as you have done well in realising the opposition’s goals then that of your own party," was the beginning of Mukhriz’s (right) tirade against Zaid, who is Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department for legal affairs.

Zaki, a former lawyer for Umno, is known to be on close terms with Prime Minister and Umno president Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

His appointment as appellate court president in December last year was controversial with various quarters questioning his capability to be impartial due to his past affiliation with Umno.

"And this person was recommended by your prime minister himself," Mukhriz said, causing a ruckus in the BN's side of the House.

Serious judicial reform
Zaid wasn’t inclined to take Mukhriz’s jibe lying down and in a subtle but immediate rebuke replied that "maybe the person who made this statement is not comfortable being in BN".

Zaid, continuing with his winding-up speech, assured the opposition that the government was serious about reforming the judiciary.

ISA, SCC to be reviewed

Zaid, however, said that while the Internal Security Act would not be repealed despite pressure for the government to do so, certain sections of it would be reviewed. He said that he, Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar and attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail have been tasked to review certain sections of the draconian law, which allows detention without trial.

In his winding-up speech, Nazri told Parliament that the cabinet had told EC chairperson Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman two weeks before the Feb 13 dissolution of Parliament that it rejected the commission's proposal to mark voters’ thumbnail with indelible ink. Nazri also insisted that there was no order for the EC to cancel its plans for the indelible ink and that there is a difference between the cabinet rejecting a proposal and an order for a proposal to be scrapped. He said that the eventual scrapping of the indelible ink four days before the general elections was among the reasons Barisan Nasional lost many votes due to the perception that it was seeking to win through illegal means.

On the other hand, Dr Dzulkifli Ahmad (PAS-Kuala Selangor) recommended the sacking of EC Chairman.

'Indelible ink conspiracy': Report lodged

Two polls watchdog groups today lodged a police report against Election Commission chief Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman and Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi for the last-minute cancellation of the indelible ink in the March 8 general elections. MCPXAlso named in the police report are two other key individuals who were allegedly responsible for the abrupt reversal in the use of the ink - inspector general of police Musa Hassan and attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail.

The groups - Coalition for Free and Fair Elections (Bersih) and National Institute for Electoral Integrity (NIEI) - claimed that the cabinet led by Abdullah had “conspired” with the EC under Abdul Rashid to suspend the use of the ink.“This is a conspiracy between the prime minister and the EC chairman to rob our rights (as voters),” said NIEI executive director Amin Iskandar after lodging the report at the Dang Wangi police station in Kuala Lumpur.

Last Saturday, Abdul Rashid unwittingly revealed that the cabinet had objected to the use of the indelible ink and that he was ordered to take the blame for the decision.

EC’s reasons absurd

NIEI’s Amin described the reasons given by EC in the suspension of the ink as absurd.
“I’ve been to Afghanistan and Nepal (to observe elections) and these are post-conflict nations, yet they never had such nonsensical excuses,” said Amin, who has participated in missions to observe elections in a number of countries for over 10 years.

Umno accepts Mahathir's resignation

Umno's top decision-making body, the supreme council, has today accepted the resignation of former president Dr Mahathir Mohamad from the party. Party deputy president Najib Abdul Razak told reporters after almost a three-hour meeting that the party had received and accepted Mahathir's resignation. Najib also said that he hoped Mahathir would rejoin the party sometime in the future. At the press conference, Najib said that the meeting discussed two matters - Mahathir's resignation as well as on how to strengthen the party. Najib added that the supreme council members also pledged to continue their support for Abdullah.

Chua hands 'evidence' to panel

Former MCA vice-president Dr Chua Soi Lek today revealed that he had received a ‘report' which he believed contained information on the alleged snoop squad set up to spy on party leaders. While he could not vouch for the authenticity of the report, Chua said establishing the veracity of the content was now the prerogative of the party's three-member panel probing the existence of the snoop squad."I have handed over the report to the panel. However, on the details of the report, I would like to keep it secret. If it was revealed, it would be unfair to the panel," he told a press conference after testifying at the panel.
However, Chua revealed that the report dwelled into three main issues:

That a person accused of being part of the snoop squad, Tee Aun Chuan, had met top party leaders to discuss the squad's activities in several specific dates,

Detailed information on the clout of various factions within the party, and,
That Chua should not receive the support of the party for suggesting that "a certain individual" should contest in the general election

Umno holds emergency council meeting

Umno has called an emergency meeting of the party’s supreme council at 9pm, two days after former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad gave up his life membership.

Mahathir’s sudden decision to quit has triggered a number of emergency meetings, including one yesterday when Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi met with Umno parliamentarians to head off possible similar resignations.

The former premier, who had led Umno for 22 years, quit the party on Monday and said he would not rejoin until Abdullah stepped down, causing a panic in the ranks who feared a mass exodus of party members.

So far there has been little indication of a big number of members following Mahathir’s example.

The only notable resignations were Mahathir’s son Mokhzani and former minister and Kedah mentri besar Sanusi Junid, known to be a loyalist to the former party strongman.

Mass resignations in Umno branches

Joining Mokhzani today is former Kota Setar parliamentarian Dr Abdul Hadi Derani.

According to Star Online, 300 members from an Umno branch from Mokhzani's division in Merbok had resigned en masse.

This was followed by a few hundred members from another branch in Pokok Sena, also in Kedah, and a branch in Petaling Jaya Selatan in Selangor.

In the next few days, it is expected that a few more Umno branches will see mass resignations of members.

However, Mahathir's other son, Mukhriz did not follow suit, arguing that he would remain in the party to fight for reforms.

Nevertheless, Abdullah will need to ensure that the resignations today will not pick up momentum in the coming days and weeks.

Mukhriz attacks gov't in Parliament

(Malaysiakini) The morality of the government was put to the test in the Dewan Rakyat today when a controversial BN backbencher stood up to ask why the allegedly biggest corporate supporter to the US military campaign in Iraq has been allowed to invest in Malaysia.

Mukhriz Mahathir (Umno-Jerlun) demanded why Halliburton, a top American oil and gas services company and defence contractor, has been allowed to open a factory in Johor when the government had in the past professed to be against the war in Iraq.

“This corporation is involved in the murder of more than one million innocent Iraqi civilians and I want to know why our government has allowed it to open a factory in Johor,” he asked.

The youngest son of former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, who like his father, has been an ardent critic of the Iraq war and US president George W Bush.

In response, International Trade and Industry Deputy Minister Jacob Dungau Sagan said that Halliburton - which has a US$7 billion no-bid oil and infrastructure contract in Iraq - was allowed to set up a factory only after the corporation no longer associates itself with supplying arms.

Hop out of BN, Mahathir tells MPs
(Malaysiakini) Two days after quitting Umno, ex-president and premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad has suggested another way to force his successor Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to step down.

Barisan Nasional MPs should hop out of the coalition, he wrote in a concise 10-point post on his blog, Chedet.com

“We have heard a lot about the possibility of BN members hopping into opposition parties. If 35 members join the opposition, BN will fall. The opposition will win and form the next government,” he wrote.

He reasoned that BN representatives should not hop into any opposition party in Pakatan Rakyat.

“What will happen to all the BN party hoppers? They won’t become PM because surely the Pakatan leader will become PM. Other Pakatan members will also become ministers and deputy ministers,” he explained.

“How many of these posts remain available for BN hoppers? Surely not all of them will get a post. They will continue to be Pakatan followers just like how they followed Abdullah before they hopped (to the opposition).”

Mahathir said these former BN representatives would be free to state their stand on both government and opposition policies (if they become Independents).

The Abdullah administration would fall if a sufficient number of MPs leave the BN, thereby depriving the ruling coalition of even its simple majority in Parliament.

“A new government can only be formed if this is agreed to by those who (have) left BN because they carry enough votes to decide whether BN or Pakatan will acquire the majority in Parliament,” he wrote.

“If BN replaces Abdullah with somebody who is brave, those who left the coalition can give their support back to BN so it can become the government again.

“This is one way to force Abdullah to resign. After this, all who hopped (out of BN) can return to their respective parties. Believe me, those from the BN component parties who supported the opposition during the 12th general election will (give back) their support to BN after Abdullah is no longer PM.”

Mokhzani also quits

Thus far, Mahathir has found few members to emulate his departure from Umno. Parliamentarians from the party backed Abdullah at a meeting yesterday.

Mahathir’s son Mukhriz, who is Jerlun MP and who is vying to be Umno Youth chief, did not attend the meeting. He called a press conference to say he would not leave the party, but he too urged Abdullah to step down.

Another son - businessman and former Youth wing treasurer Mokhzani - announced his exit today.

“I made the decision to leave Umno because I agree with my father that Umno is no longer the real Umno like before,” he was quoted as saying by Bernama.

Mukhriz stays put but urges PM to quit

Jerlun member of Parliament Mukhriz Mahathir today said he will not join his father in quitting Umno.

Instead he urged party president and Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to step down "as soon as possible".

Speaking in a press conference today, he urged Umno members and Malaysians to openly call for Abdullah to resign.

He said he had not discussed the matter with his father.

"To be frank, he might be disappointed (with my decision). I will explain it to him," he said.

"It is not my role to convince him to stay," he added.

Also present at the press conference to show support for Mukhriz were some 20 branch and division leaders.

Abdullah to meet Umno MPs today

PM shocked by Dr M's decision

(Malaysiakini) Umno president Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was shocked by his predecessor's decision to quit the party but will not meet him personally to ask him to reconsider the decision. Abdullah, who is also prime minister, was nevertheless confident that there would not be a mass exodus of party members following Dr Mahathir Mohamad's lead. He also vowed he would not step down as demanded by Mahathir and to instead continue leading the party.

"I was surprised that he resigned and does not want to be in Umno any more," the premier told reporters, after years of feuding between the pair. "I had never thought that he would actually take the step to leave the party." Abdullah said Mahathir's decision would "weaken the party to an extent" but that he did not expect any of the ruling party's lawmakers to quit.

"I think maybe some people will follow him. The question is whether you care for Umno or not," he said.

He described the ex-Umno president and former premier’s action as calculated to “destabilise the government” under Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Shahrir: Prepare for another general election

(Malaysiakini) In the wake of the shocking news that former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad had quit Umno, a senior party leader said that the country could face another general elections.

Shahrir Samad, the minister for domestic trade and consumer affairs, said Mahathir's surprise move could trigger a flurry of resignations from the embattled party that could force Abdullah to hold fresh general elections.

"By Tun doing this it could cause a situation where many other Umno lawmakers might resign," he said, using Mahathir's honorific title.

"If this happens then the government has no choice but to form a new government or call a fresh general election," Shahrir told AFP.

"Certainly it is not helpful or constructive to the struggle of Umno right now," he said, as the party fends off a challenge from opposition figurehead Anwar Ibrahim who says he could soon seize power with the help of defectors.

Shahrir, who is Johor Baru parliamentarian and Umno supreme council member, said that while Anwar was threatening to snatch lawmakers from the smaller parties with which Umno rules in coalition, Mahathir could chip away at the ranks of the ruling party itself.

"This will be a reduction of the number of Umno lawmakers which is the ruling party of the present government," he said.

"I suppose it is Mahathir's way of trying to force a call for a referendum from the grassroots."

The Star's website quoted Umno information chief Muhammad Muhammad Taib as saying he was surprised at Mahathir's abrupt departure.

(Malaysiakini) Former Umno president Dr Mahathir Mohamad today announced that he was quitting Umno with immediate effect and urged other members to emulate him.

He said he was quitting the party, which he led for almost 22 years until handing over the reins to Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in 2003, as a sign of no confidence in his successor's leadership.

"I will only come back to the party when there is a change in leadership," the ex-premier told a crowd at a forum in his home state of Kedah this morning.

He also called on all Umno ministers, deputy ministers and all levels of party leaders to join him in leaving the party.

However he asked these members not to join any other party.

"Wait till Abdullah to quit as the prime minister and party president and then we can return to Umno," he said.

Abdullah's most vocal critic

Mahathir, 82, joined Umno at its inception in 1946 and in recent years has been Abdullah's most vocal critic.

He entered active politics as a member of Parliament for Kedah's Kota Star Selatan in 1964.

He lost the seat in the disastrous 1969 general elections, and was expelled from the party after attacking then president and prime minister Tunku Abdul Rahman.

Mahathir was invited back into the party by second prime minister, Abdul Razak, and re-elected to Parliament in 1974 for the seat of Kubang Pasu, also in Kedah.

Soon after he was appointed education minister. Within four years he was deputy leader of the party, and in 1981, became prime minister.

When Umno split into two as a result of a bitter factional feud and the party deregistered after a legal battle a year later, Mahathir formed Umno Baru and he was the new party's first member.

Meanwhile, rival leader Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah who narrowly lost to Mahathir in the leadership contest, went on to set up Semangat 46.Razaleigh and his party returned to Umno's fold in 1996 and the veteran Umno leader is now challenging Abdullah in the party polls to be held in December.

Prosecution not a certainty against Lingam six, says DPM

THE recommendation by the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Lingam video clip to investigate six people including Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad does not necessarily mean they will be prosecuted, the deputy prime minister said. Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the functions of the commission and the judiciary in the hearing of cases against the six were different.

"We set up the commission and it has reported its findings. We cannot conceal them from the public or not accept the recommendations.

EC chief Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman: Cabinet disapproved of indelible ink

It appears that the cabinet had a hand in the last minute cancellation in the use of indelible ink during the March 8 general election.

(The Star) KUALA LUMPUR: It was the Cabinet that did not approve the use of indelible ink during the March 8 election, Election Commission (EC) chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman disclosed Saturday.

He said he was told to take responsibility for agreeing to it.

"The Cabinet gave two very strong reasons why they did not agree to it – security and the law - Article 119, concerning the basic right for everyone to vote, and I agreed with them," he said.

He said that the commission should have a bigger control over the electoral process under Article 113 to Article 120 of the Federal Constitution.

“This would give us power to control abuses. One important aspect that has to be looked into immediately is the registration of electors registration,” Abdul Rashid said after launching the National Seminar on Elections 2008; Democracy at Work.

He said another power lacking in the EC was the power to take court action.

“When people say the wrong things we should be able to sue. A lot of scandalous things have been thrown about, including from the media, the mainstream or alternative media.

“They must be made to pay for the things they say because most of the things they have been saying are not true” he said.

Datuk John Ghani: Dont call them frogs

Kuala Lumpur will be making a grave mistake to brand Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders frogs just because they are demanding what Malaysians in the State had been asking for all this while, said veteran politician Datuk John Ghani, Friday.

The former Independent Assemblyman for Kuala Penyu said recent developments where MPs and political leaders from Sabah had been more open and vociferous in voicing out issues that affect the State was not surprising based on the present political scenario.

"Don't make a mistake by concluding that Sabah leaders are those who simply like to switch parties. What they are saying is the reality in the State, which they have been unable to voice out for quite a long time.

"It is quite disappointing to hear leaders in Kuala Lumpur saying Sabahans have no stand. This is not the case," said John, one of those instrumental in helping Umno spread its wings to Sabah in 1994.
